Pilimur, if I am understanding you correctly, your donut batter is to thick, too much of the donut flour and not enough liquid. The machine you have if I am also correct in saying, has a funnel type batter extractor at one end. The batter or dough for the donuts should be a little thicker in consistency than pancake mix, but not too thick. So as the batter drops it makes the donut hole and cuts the required batter.
Choosing Mini Donuts Equipment

In the beginning there will be lots of work that needs to be done by you personally; so make sure that your family is on your side supporting you. Choosing good mini donuts equipment is vital for high production with optimum efforts; so a detailed research is a must.
The equipment can be divided into five groups:
1. Foremost among the equipment is a Mini Donuts Machine. Establish contact with the maker or dealer of the machine and learn about it. Inquire about each and every aspect of the machine. Read the usage literature that comes with it. You will need the following for setting up your mini donuts machine:
- Siphon Pump
- Insulated Oil Can for Solid Shortening – Insulated Oil Can for Liquid Shortening
2. Secondly you need the dough preparation equipment. This means the Ultra Power Mixer with a distinctive nozzle, the electronic Mix Scale and a blade for the fluid dough. Follow the instructions in the manufacturer’s manual about dry mixes for donuts and you are merrily on your way to making the ideal dough.
3. The third group of items that make the mini donuts equipment consists of supplementary equipment like:
- Squeeze Bottle (at least 2) – Self-Sealing Mix Bin
- Commercial Drain Tray for glazed donuts (quantity depends on your targets and display size)
- Deep Commercial Drain Tray (at least 2) – A warmer for heating ready products (at least 1)
- Large tongs (2) – Handy Server for hot donuts – Display for beautiful glazed doughnuts
4. Next you need the tools to clean your equipment regularly. Any store would stock it. Don’t forget to ensure that it cleans both the inside and outside of your equipment.
5. Lastly you need filters and spare parts. This will ensure your business goes on without interruption. Be an early bird and check with the manufacturer regarding additional parts required and the frequency of changing parts of your mini donuts equipment. You must have a rough estimate of how much it will cost you. Also ask them about any guarantees when you purchase a new donuts machine.
If you have a small budget you can buy used equipment. In this case you must be able to tackle its maintenance which includes assembly, dis-assembly, oil or shortening change, filters and other parts.
Remember that if you buy equipment from a lesser-known manufacturer you will end up spending on spare parts that you will require frequently. This will cost you more in the long run. In fact sometimes lesser known makers simply do not serve their customers.
